We Hope to Kindle a Fire!

Everyone at the airport waiting to greet our General Authority, President & Sister Ringwood, our Mission President & Sister Mecham and President & Sister Davis.
It has been a big day ~  we have District Conference this weekend and also a huge Humanitarian project up at the Chuuk High School delivering 150 kindle fires to the school. Take a  look at the pictures and we will try to tell the story as you check them out.  This first one is all the elders waiting to shake our Presidents hand.

The beautiful young ladies are from Chuuk High School.
These lovely ladies are from the Mwan Branch. They made the beautiful marmar (flower lei's)

The sign reads:  Thank you for your donation.
Here we have only part of the elders waiting for the plane to arrive.  1st we have the Branch President of the Mwan Branch President Wayne, next Elder Tiffany, member Brandy, Elder Allred, Elder Pita and Elder Johnson.
They have arrived ~ President and Sister Ringwood.
Welcome to Chuuk, we are happy you are here
President and Sister Davis, welcome back to Chuuk!
Thank you for all you support.
Sister Mecham, welcome back to Chuuk.
We love having you come to visit and teach.
~ Elder Tiffany with our District President Tarsi Wainis ~
President Monson says that many people in the world need help.  He says Heavenly Father wants us to notice them and see how many we can help.
The Chuuk High School Children were at the school with signs waiting to greet everyone.
These students sang a beautiful song for us and they were very gracious. The video of them singing is posted on our Facebook page. The simple, daily acts of service may not seem like much in and of themselves, but when considered collectively, they become just like the one-twelfth teaspoon of honey contributed by a single bee to the hive, as Elder Ballard described in his conference talk this past October.  There is power in our love for God and for His children and when that love is tangibly manifest in millions of acts of Christian kindness, it will sweeten and nourish the world with the life-sustaining nectar of faith, hope, and charity.
Presidents Ringwood and President Davis giving the kindle fires to the High School kids and explaining where they come from, who contributes and also what is on them and how to take advantage of using them!
The School Board accepts the donation from Presidents Ringwood and Davis. They downloaded the kindles with a huge number of books.  Our internet in Chuuk is very slow and we want the kids to get right into learning.
The principal at Chuuk High School is Paul Haddik. He is driven to help the children be successful in their futures.
The Kindles will be a great blessing to these kids.  They learn english in school but they use Chuukese in their homes and there are very few books translated in Chuukese so it will give them the opportunity to explore the world and gain the knowledge that is available.
The kids and parents prepared a very nice light lunch for everyone to say thank you for the generous gift to the school.  Elder Ringwood wasn't sure what he should try so he stuck to the cookies and donut.  Good thing he is a runner and the secret why he is a thin man.
