Merry Chuuk CHRISTmas
A hard day out doing Missionary work
President Mackey, Sister Tiffany, Elders Johnson and Meldrum along with a couple of local children. We have walked over the hill and thru the jungle, sweating and laughing a long the way.
“For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent; But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I” (Doctrine and Covenants 19:16-

Through personal experiences we have learned that as we draw closer to Heavenly Father and to His Son when life’s inevitable challenges and difficulties come they will draw very near to us. They will ease our burdens and bring peace, comfort and perspective. They ‘will not leave us comfortless’, they ‘will come unto us’. May we ever remember and understand that we need not suffer if we would constantly repent and come unto the Saviour of the World. We testify of Jesus Christ. He is the Saviour and Redeemer of all mankind. We know that our Redeemer lives.
Sister making Tapioca
This sister was making fresh Tapioca when we arrived. It was our first time giving it a taste. "kinda plain" The people are always willing to share everything they have and they don't have much to give. They are some of the most charitable people you will ever meet. We love the Chuukese people and look forward to serving them.
Jungle fun in Epinup
View from the top coming out from the jungle
It was a hot, humid day out in the jungle this day, it had rained earlier so things were a little wet and slippery. Just when Sister Tiffany thought she had mastered walking in the jungle, she slipped on the rock and down she went. This picture was taken right before she fell down, it is taken on an open area at the top. She hurt her elbow and shoulder but said it hurt her pride more. Now she won't let any of us walk behind her. And so we all just keep plugging away playing out in the Jungle.
Visiting members
A day in the life of Elder and Sister Tiffany
We walk in the Jungle with the Elders Johnson and Meldrum along with Branch President Mackey looking for active and non active members. They don't have addresses here unless you call "down the path, over around the mango tree, next to the banana tree on the left" an address. This is why we use a GPS unit. It's a good work out and Sister Tiffany has only slipped a few times. No major damage, we keep a good eye on her. We have the best calling searching the jungles. If we, like clay, are malleable in the hands of the Lord, we will find happiness. It's BEAUTIFUL!

Great Week this week!
Last week we had District Conference and Elder Ringwood of the Seventy was here to teach us. He had many great and inspired lessons for us. He is 1st counselor of the Northeast Asia Area. It was great to spend time with him and be taught by him here. On Friday we had a meeting for all the missionaries and Pres. and Sister Meacham. Then Sat. we had Priesthood meeting and then the Adult session. Sunday we had our general meeting and each time we were taught great lessons. Also It was great for everyone here to get together and associate. The sisters make laies for us all and they are very beautiful with the natural flowers from this island and the other islands. They are very intricate and special.
On Monday morning Elder Tiffany cooked pancakes for all the elders and senior couples until there was no more batter left. They all got filled up and then went their p day ways.
On Wednesday we went out together with Elders Johnson and Meldrum to find members and track them to see how they are doing and if there is any help or assistance we can give them. Some of them have not been able to get to church for awhile and our visit was joyful for us all. The children all smile and get very excited to see us and the elders talk and play with them.
