This is the service that counts, the service to which all of us have been called: the service of the Lord Jesus Christ.
What a busy, busy Sunday and yet, one of the greatest Sunday's we have ever had.
Dr. Chad Ellis and his wife Lynette have been in Chuuk visiting for the past couple of weeks. As we posted on an earlier blog, he was here doing dental work on a humanitarian project. They were amazing in many other ways also, Chad (Elder Ellis) served his mission here 26 years ago. “And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God” (Mosiah 2:17).
We have had the pleasure of spending time with them and getting to know them. These two are amazing and have hearts so big, full of love and gratitude. The Chuukese people are a loving people and have embraced them. We feel honored to have had the opportunity to meet people that they knew and spent the time out with them visiting. The Lord works in mysterious ways, we know never to question what the Lord has in store for us. Even when we might not understand, it is always for the better in the long run.
We were told about a Sister who was sick and in the hospital so after church we all loaded up and headed up to see her.
The Sister in the purple is "Malinta". She is one the sweetest, most beautiful ladies we know.
She has been very sick this past week and is now in the Hospital.

~Elder Tiffany and Dr. Ellis were there to give her a blessing~
In a priesthood blessing a servant of the Lord exercises the priesthood, as moved upon by the Holy Ghost, to call upon the powers of heaven for the benefit of the person being blessed. Such blessings are conferred by holders of the Melchizedek Priesthood, which has the keys of all the spiritual blessings of the Church

The Joseph family were not able to attend Church today because baby "Brady" was not well. We wanted Chad and Lynette to meet them, because they are such strong members of the branch and we love them dearly. When we arrived it was sprinkling a little outside but once in the house it really began to pour buckets. Before Chad came out on his trip here, he had downloaded all his Chuuk pictures from his mission. What an incredible missionary tool that has been. And so very great to see people light up when they see a picture of a family member, someone that has passed away or maybe even of themselves when they were little. Chad did not know President Joseph directly but he does through his companion. This is Dr. Ellis showing pictures of President Joseph when he was younger, One of the Elder's that was out on a mission with Chad baptized President Joseph. What a special moment it was when President saw the picture. Best way to describe that feeling is to thank God for the tender mercies he gives us all.

Chad showing pictures to the Joseph Family. What a great event for all of us. These smiles are well worth all the efforts we have gone to here,
The last stop of the evening was to find one of Dr. Ellis' companions from Tonoas. After our visit here it was raining buckets and getting very dark. One of his beautiful daughters walked us to our car with a flash light. Lynette got stuck in the mud and almost lost a flip flop. We were completely muddy and wet by the time we made it to the car and it was completely, totally one of the most spiritual, funniest Sunday's we have had.
The scriptures teach that each of us is a son or daughter of Heavenly Father and that we lived with Him before we were born. He created the earth for us to live on. He sent His Son, our Savior Jesus Christ, to die for us and to help us when we make mistakes or when we are sad or lonely. Heavenly Father gave us commandments to help us become like Jesus Christ. To follow God’s plan, we need to repent when we do something wrong, be baptized, and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost to guide us every day.
Heavenly Father’s plan is a plan of happiness. He wants us to return with our families to live with Him and His Son, Jesus Christ.
This is the service that counts, the service to which all of us have been called:
the service of the Lord Jesus Christ.
